Are there hidden places, secret spaces, unusual perspectives or quirky things about Wylam that inspire you and grab your attention? If so we invite you to get creative and be inventive as you capture and share our wonderful village from behind the lens. As part of our new Hidden Wylam interactive photography event we’d love it if you would submit your photos to our Wylam Winter Tales Flickr photo page. We’ll be showing some of these photos as part of a rolling slide show at a few events in our 2017 Festival programme and may even use some of them to promote Wylam Winter Tales in future. We’ll also be holding a larger exhibition of ‘Hidden Wylam’ photographs featuring the best ones from the Flickr group in 2018.
How to submit your Photograph
To submit a photo, sign into your Flickr account (or create one if you don’t have one) and go to our Wylam Winter Tales group (www.flickr.com/groups/wylamwintertales/). Click on the Join Group button and if you agree to our rules you can then add photos from your Flickr account to the group. It’s a moderated website so your photo will only appear when the moderator has had a chance to approve it. Please note that we can only include photos of children if permission is received from parents as described in the group’s rules.
If you don’t have a Flickr account but you want to participate, you can still email a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org (put Photo in the subject line). Please don’t send any more than two pictures per email. Thanks!
‘Hidden Wylam' 2017 Exhibition
To kick us off in 2017, local photographer Mariya V.P. has been gathering together a select group of photographs that give us a chance to see inside some village landmarks that not many of us get to see. You can view the exhibition at The Daniel Farm Shop & Tea Rooms in the week leading up and during the Festival. Look out for other pop up photo displays with local businesses around the village during Festival week.
