LIVE AT WYLAM HALL: BELINDA JONES
Monday 28th January 2019, 7.45pm
Wylam Hall, The Orchard, Wylam, NE41 8AS
Total Tickets: 25
This may well prove to be one of the hottest tickets of this year’s Festival. A bijou gig in the atmospheric surroundings of the entrance hall in Wylam Hall with former Radio 2 Folk Award winner Bill (Belinda) Jones. With tickets limited to 25 it will be a special night.
Bill with her lively style and fresh, unpretentious approach, launched herself onto the UK folk scene in 1998, delighting both die hard devotees of acoustic music and newcomers to the genre. In February 2001, less than a year after releasing her debut album “Turn to Me”, Bill won the Horizon (Best Newcomer) Award at the BBC Folk Awards. Tours followed in Europe, America and Japan.
Born in Staffordshire and now based in the North East, she plays accordion, piano, flute and Irish whistle, as well as having a sweet and soulful voice. After taking time away from touring and recording to raise her three boys, we’re pleased to be among the first to hear Bill’s new material as she returns to the live music circuit.
Please note that there is limited access to toilet facilities at this event. Access to toilets is not disability-friendly. There is also limited parking.
