After captivating audiences with their solo performances at previous Festivals, singer-songwriters Yvonne Lyon and Boo Hewerdine make a very welcome Winter Tales return with their new collaboration. “Things Found In Books” is an album of songs written in response to a quirky notice board in the second-hand bookshop at historic Culzean Castle in Ayrshire. Notes, photographs, old receipts, letters, postcards and fragments of people's lives had been collected from the old books and kept on the board on the wall among the bookshelves. Yvonne and Boo formed an inimitable songwriting partnership, weaving these ephemeral stories with their own, creating an album full of nostalgia and beauty, hope and longing.

Boo Hewerdine is an acclaimed Ivor Novello Award nominated English singer/songwriter. For over 30 years he has been considered one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters. As lead singer of seminal band, The Bible through to his subsequent solo work and long-time collaboration with the incredible Eddi Reader Boo has become something of a national treasure. Eddi Reader enjoyed international success with the Hewerdine written hit single Patience of Angels in 1995 and Boo also produced Reader’s Sings the Songs of Robert Burns in 2003, an album now viewed as a folk classic. He is one of the greatest songwriter performers in the business.
