To kick off Winter Tales 2024 we’re excited to bring you two of the most daring silent movie performers the world has ever seen accompanied by a live virtuoso performance from professional pianist Ieva Dubova to ease and entertain you into a Winter Festival Weekend.

Our double bill begins with Charlie Chaplin in “The Rink” - an excruciatingly comedic caper featuring Chaplin showing off his roller skating prowess. After causing restaurant mayhem at work, a bumbling waiter tears up the local roller rink to save ‘the girl’ (played by Edna Purviance) from the unwanted attentions of the overbearing Mr Stout (played by Eric Campbell). Chaos ensues !

Second up we have the legendary Buster Keaton performing in “One Week”. Buster and Sybil exit a chapel as newlyweds. Among their gifts is a portable house you easily put together in one week. It doesn't help that Buster's rival for Sybil switches the numbers on the crates containing the house parts. An equal amount of chaos and stunt bravado ensues !

Here is something absolutely new in comedies, starring a funmaker who is destined to reach the topmost rung of public favor.
